Comparing coverage

I have finished transcribing and translating the three adaptations of the novel and need to work on the comparisons. There are some general observations that I made through the transcriptions, but I want to be much more specific.

I want to see how much these adaptations tell Cecile's story, from her perspective (as in the novel), and how much they concentrate on Raymond, or Anne's point of view.

For comparison, I will breakdown the novel and use it as the base.

1. Which are the scenes that all 3 adaptations cover?

2. Which are the scenes that all 3 adaptations leave out?

3. What percentage of Cecile's inner thoughts (her narration in the novel) are spoken?

4. What proportion of the story is Cecile unaware of? (which scenes are shown to the audience, but not to her?)

5. What percentage of the work do Cecile/Raymond/Anne appear in (how often are they on stage/screen)?

6. When on screen/stage, how centrally placed is Cecile?

7. Do we ever see anybody's point of view as a cinematographic choice?

8. What are the key changes to Cecile/Anne/Raymond that each adaptation has included?

9. How is the sun, sea and sand shown?
