I had to send Tom a further email with the descriptions of what I wanted.
So basically, I'm making a series of films that reimagine scenes from Bonjour Tristesse for my PhD. The novel is written from the viewpoint of a teenage girl and adaptations (as films) that have been made since have been directed from the eyes (and minds) of middle aged men. So, I'm trying to recreate scenes that show more of what's in her mind.
The scene that I'm working on now is one that happens in a forest. Essentially, it's the middle of the day, (perhaps over multiple days), it's very hot, it's got that intense heat of the Meditarraenean to it. Very blue skies, pine forest, blue seas, white sand. The teenage girl has a boyfriend and they play childish games as they run up through the forest out of the sea, so they're in their swimming costumes. The games are things like chase, and hide and seek, things like that. One time, he catches her and they roll on the floor and kiss, until her stepmother calls her from behind and she looks around sharply.
So, what I'm trying to do (what I'm asking you to do), is to collect stills that I can build into a montage to recreate this. I haven't got actors. I might have to use actors and place them into the stills. But what would be really good is if you can take sequences of stills, one after the other, so I can animate them so it looks a bit like a film, but is clearly not.
Basically, I was telling my friend about this, and she said 'just tell him to shoot the shit out of it'. So, I guess that's it really. Just shoot as much as you can! Movement, stills, everything really! But I definitely need shots of her lying on the ground, looking up through the trees.
He arrived at the beach yesterday, it's here:

And he sent me a video as he was there, so we were able to speak live, as it were. I directed as much as possible.
And this is what he said he had done:

He tried to upload the files to me, but at 4GB, it's taking him ages, he doesn't have wifi, so he's sending this to me on a USB stick.
