First thoughts on receiving the images.
I have received the USB stick with the images in the post from Tom. The stamps are the most Greek I can imagine.

The still images are the best. He ran with the camera, opening the shutter to capture movement, but some of these are over exposed, and when I animate them, they are less interesting. The squiggles in the trees and of the grass are clear indicators of an open shutter, capturing movement which gives a kind of overly digital effect. Although this is clearly a subjective viewpoint, and does go into some of Maya Deren's thinking around using the camera as a version of the body, and it also fits in with the Female Gaze narrative, I somehow don't like the look of it so much.
By accident, when watching the footage, a shadow looked like the silhouette of a body leaning over and I wondered at what point this film is reconstructing her own memory. And if this is the case, does the imagery need to be from her eye? It's becoming clear that the images are not all from her eyes and that they are fragments of a day, or a few days that she is remembering. The sun on the water, the shape of Cyril under the water, the close up images of sand and its detritus, the trees, and the sounds. The sounds are more real than the visuals.
